Anyone applying to mentor StartX founders will take part in a trial period for one year.
During this year, you will be matched as a full participant and StartX will use founder feedback to evaluate the fit of your expertise with the community’s needs.
At the end of this trial period, based on the founder feedback, you will be admitted into the StartX Community with the full status Lead Mentor role.
StartX Board of Advisors mentors typically have strong expertise in an area, whether via PhD, a long technical career, industry experience in specific skill set, or their own startup.
The role of the Board of Advisors is to provide founders with objective feedback on their progress, help identify critical risks and milestones, and add a level of accountability to their own goals. The board also serves as experiential learning in how to build and maintain relationships with and engage advisors.
For each of StartX's 10 week sessions (3x per year), StartX Board of Advisors mentors opt in to be paired with a StartX company. Each board will be comprised of a few mentors who may be investors, serial entrepreneurs, industry experts, or StartX alumni.
Each board meets several times during the course of the session, depending on the stage and needs of the specific company.
